So, let me get this straight. Trump’s campaign is saying the testimonials of women who were sexually assaulted by Trump are false, and they have no business digging up stories that happened decades ago, yet Trump keeps bringing up stuff Hillary’s HUSBAND did decades ago and using that against HER? Is that really what I’m hearing?

Just sitting here watching old clips of Carl Sagan and wondering… There are a number of people who we, pretty much universally, consider the most intelligent people among us; Einstein, Von Braun, Stephen Hawking, Neil deGrasse-Tyson, among many others. They all say, or said, the same things; that we, as human beings, have the responsibility to care for the environment and our fellow human beings, that our priorities should be ending poverty and hunger, transitioning to renewable, sustainable energy, funding innovation and exploration. If we regard these people as the smartest among us, why don’t we listen to them? Why are these concepts derided as preposterous when the very people we say are the smartest say they are not only imperative, but obtainable?

I have to hand it to Mike Pence. Last night, in the debate, he said something that I’ve never heard before from a politician. During his pro-life sermon, he mentioned expanding adoption services. That has been on my mind for years. If you are going to force women to carry unwanted pregnancies to term, what are your plans for caring for the unwanted births? While I believe his “pro-life at all costs” position naive and dangerous, at least he thought it through. This will probably be my one, and only, compliment for Mike Pence.

Brushing up on HTML5 and CSS3

As more and more browsers are adopting the new standards, it has become imperative to learn HTML5 and CSS3. I already had a strong knowledge of the web languages from experience, picking up tips along the way, but I wanted to know more specifics about what and why.

Over the past month or so I have been participating in webinars and reading about it. I feel the knowledge I gained will help me build more responsive sites in the future.

My trip into Drupal Land

So I see this word, Drupal, popping up all over recently. I’ve known about Drupal for a while now, but haven’t heard much about it. I knew it was another Content Management System (CMS) like Joomla! or WordPress (which this site is built in), but that was it.

I have used Joomla! for years on many sites. WordPress is a little newer for me, but I have also used it for years and on many sites. So now I’m seeing more and more talk of this Drupal thing and figured I should learn more.

It turns out, Drupal is one of the most popular CMS’s out there. It’s powerful and easy to use. I’ve spent some time learning the terminology and structure. Now I am building my own site with it.

So far it’s pretty cool. I’m building a new site now that may turn into something big. Check out my progress HERE.

Just Learned Flash

I took a few hours this weekend to learn Flash. All of it. It was pretty easy. Now I’m an expert… well, not really… but I did manage to crank out a little animation.

It’s nothing to write home about, but I did just start this weekend. Soon I’ll be developing interactive sites with robots and space aliens or something fun like that.
